I am prepping to leave for CHA early tomorrow but I thought I would let you know that the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Chattanooga, TN is now open for registration.

Show dates – Sept 25-26, 2009

I will be teaching lots of classes there and I hope to see some faces from last year (and some new ones too).  I will get a schedule of my classes posted later today.

Had a Great Day…

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Loved the show today! ACTUALLY spent about 3.4 seconds on the shopping floor…BAD idea!

Well, not bad for the universe but bad for my pocket book. :)  Had a great day teaching – loved the students! Students totally make the show for me – I love enthusiastic scrapbookers!

I ACTUALLY took photos today – something I always mean to do but am usually too busy teaching to take many. This time I made sure to snap some but of course I am way too tired tonight to go about finding my cord to transfer the photos…:)

Promise to do it asap. :)

Tomorrow – repeat. :)

I’m Here :)

I’ve arrived here in Chantilly, VA for the GASC.  I’ve got a busy day ahead of me teaching and I can’t wait.  Hopefully I get a chance to snap some photos so I can share. :)   Hope everyone out there has a great day!

Cards for Heros

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

From the GASC newsletter:

Make your visit to GASC one that helps a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. GASC welcomes Cards for Heroes at the Chantilly event. There’s no card store in Kabul or Baghdad, but on the homefront, we can help! Cards for Heroes sends out thousands of hand-crafted birthday, all-occasion and holiday greeting cards to the men and women serving our country. Imagine the joy a family must feel when they receive a letter from their hero who is serving so far away. What can you do? Donate cards. Donate supplies. Sponsor a shipment with a financial donation. Write a letter to a hero. There are so many ways to help – join the effort! Drop boxes will be available to collect cards at GASC Chantilly. Learn more about this organization at cardsforheroes.org

I am packing a bunch of cards in bag to take with me to drop off.  Hope you will too. :)

Last Day!

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Today is Magnus’ last day of school (Harper’s is tomorrow.)  I almost forgot to take a picture of him this morning but at the last minute I did. (He was actually being driven there today because he had to bring a plate of snacks for the party – I had to get him back out of the truck to snap some photos.)

school-day2

Junior Kindergarten done.  WOW!  It has gone by so fast.  school-day1

Seeing these two photos together has made me decide to make a “before and after” scrapbook page.  I have never really done this type of scrapbook page before as my pages usually centered around one particular event but I think it will be kinda nice to show how he looked on both his first and last day (basically the same – just a taller and a little leaner but his body language is so much older now).  Will you be doing something similar if you have kidlets?

Now I am off to get ready to leave for the Great American Scrapbook Convention - I leave tomorrow.  I have received lots of emails from excited people attending – can’t wait to see  you all!  Two more sleeps…
